Seeds

On Saturday Eddie came home itching to do SOMETHING, anything really, so I told him to figure out what, and we'd do it. So he went online to get some ideas and decided that we should plant some seeds. We went to Lowes and Home Depot, got all the supplies we needed to start out, and did some planting. Andrew really enjoyed it and it held his attention better than I thought it would.
Maybe we'll get some pretty plants out of it as well!

Worst Kids Show on PBS/Another Look Alike Contest?

This is the worst show on PBS, here in Vegas, it comes on after signing time, so we sometimes catch the first couple minutes. It is seriously awful!

But the first time it came on, I couldn't look away, I was wondering if my cousin was leading a secret double life!

People Stare at Me

And its not in a flattering way. Its the rude type of staring. (Amber will attest to this)
I've gotten used to it, sort of. I don't notice it so much anymore, I think after traveling in Tunisia and getting harassed by the local men there, mere staring doesn't affect me like it used to.
And then Andrew and I flew home from Utah on Thursday night. We got to the airport about an hour and a half before our flight was scheduled to take off (thanks for taking us grandpa), Andrew had a little nap in the car, so when we got to the airport he was full of energy, we got thru security with no problems, and we stopped at the little play area (whoever made the decision to put that play area in is a genius, and I would like to shake his/her hand). Andrew was thrilled with all the toys and we stayed there for a good 45 minutes. No joke, every person who walked bye where Andrew and I were, watched us as they went bye. A few people even made fun of me! I was playing with Andrew, he wanted me to play with him in the little play house, so I went in there with him. Apparently a young mom playing on the floor with her toddler is an appropriate activity to ridicule.
And then we went to the terminal to wait to board the plane (which was delayed 25 minutes). Since we were in a crowded area full of strangers, Andrew felt the need to try to run away from me. I can understand when people stare at me for this reason! About 5 minutes before boarding started, I changed Andrews diaper and put his pjs on, as I was wrestling with him, a man sat his son down in the seat next to me and then he sat down.
"How old is your son?" He asked.
"He's almost two."
"Oh yeah? My wife is pregnant with twin girls."
"Thats nice, how far along is she?"
"She's about as big as the titanic"
"Oh" but I was actually thinking, 'nice description of your pregnant wife you jerk, stop talking to me!'
He continued, "Yeah me and my wife met on myspace"
"cool" by this point I was starting to be somewhat rude.
"it was myspace and then back to my place."
"oh really" inside I was thinking, 'ugh you weirdo, I don't want to know any of this'
"yeah we've been married for 3 years, we got married in vegas"
"my husband and I went on our honeymoon to vegas" and then to Andrew I said, "you wanna go see daddy? Should we get on the plane and go see daddy?"
"Oh are you taking him to visit his dad?"
"No we're going home, my husband and I live there"
"Oh you're married?"
in my head, 'um yeah, ring, honeymoon, child. are you the least observant person on earth?'
"You live in Vegas? I bet you party all the time." he said
"Not really, actually we're going to move soon"
"Oh how come"
"Cause we don't want to live there"
"Yeah it was hard to plan the wedding cause everyone was staying in different motels"
I was thinking, 'are you making this stuff up as you go along?' I stood up, walked over to where I had my phone plugged in, picked it up, grabbed my bag, and picked Andrew up.
"Oh, is your plane leaving?"
"yeah"
"Well, I just wanted to tell you that your hair is really cute!"
"thanks" I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.

Tussin Fwends

We went to an awesome pool in Provo (Thanks Jordan for inviting all of us!)
on Thursday. The babies all had a great time!

Andrew was so excited!

The screamers.
For some reason Paige and Andrew enjoy yelling in each others faces! We were at the mall one day and the kept running back and forth yelling the whole time. Bridget and I have never laughed so hard!

Paige has been inspired by the Olympics!
Next time you see her, ask her to salute, and she'll throw her arms up in the air, look at you, smile, and all she expects of you is a round of applause!

She actually wanted to eat the watermelon

Funion theif!

Father and Son

Andrew sometimes gets jealous when Eddie is getting ready for work, so one morning Eddie dressed Andrew in his clothes. Andrew was so happy to be wearing daddy's clothes!

Last night Eddie made a fort at the top of the stairs. Andrew thought it was pretty awesome, they had a good time playing in it together!

If I had 300 million dollars

We watched the opening ceremonies last night. It was an amazing show. Awe inspiring. But isn't spending $300,000,000 on a 4 hour show somewhat excessive? Especially when almost half of that show is a bunch of athletes marching around?

What would have been really impressive was if the Chinese had announced at the beginning of the show that instead of spending a ridiculous amount of money on a show, they decided to do something productive with it!

TAMN Moment

Please excuse my TAMN moment for a minute, I've just got to brag about my wonderful husband for a second! He knows how much I'm bothered by borrowing dishes from my mom until we get ours from England, he also knows how I'm annoyed that I don't have any house stuff. So for my birthday (its not til the 24th, but he usually can't wait to give me my gift) he got me house stuff and dishes! Awesome!

As we were unpacking the box, I asked him if he liked them, "not really" was his response. Isn't he so sweet?

Americans aren't the only "Ugly" ones.

We went to Mandalay Bay on Tuesday to visit the shark reef. Sorry, no pictures, the camera is dead. On the walk thru the shopping area, casino, and hotel we saw a lot of interesting people. The most interesting people we encountered were the French people who were walking behind us. Andrew was wearing his squeaker shoes and they were talking about his shoes, and us. Eddie responded to their conversation in their native language.

I guess Americans aren't the only people guilty of the social lapse of thinking no one else can understand what they're saying when they're in a foreign country.

Surgery

Eddie had a follow up doctor appointment today. Dr Manning is pretty sure Eddie has torn his ACL and his maniscus. So he needs surgery. I have to call the office tomorrow to talk to the billing department to see how much this is all going to cost.

He Was So Anxious

To get in the tub and to play with the bubbles that he climbed in before Eddie could get his diaper off.

Going Postal

Yesterday we all took trip to the post office. I was standing at the counter talking to the postal worker and sorting out what kind of shipping, stamps, and insurance we wanted, Eddie was standing next to me, and Andrew was sitting on the counter watching. The postal worker really liked Andrew, she gave him a stuffed animal because he was being a little shy, and she was talking to him and asking questions, she asked him, "Can you talk?"
He answered, "not much."

We went to The Original Pancake House for a late breakfast.
I had a Belgian waffle with strawberries, whipped cream, and sausages
Eddie had banana pancakes
Andrew licked sugar, and maple syrup off the bites on his plate.
