Surgical Notes

Eddie had surgery early early Monday morning. Honey and Papa stayed with us and babysat Andrew while Eddie and I were gone, they're the greatest. Retrieving my husband from the surgical center was somewhat comical, when asked what his pain level was he shrugged his shoulders and said, "I don't know." The surgery went well, and so far doing the rehab on our own is working, but its only been 2 days, but the Dr (we saw him today) said it looks really good.

Andrew is pretty much thrilled that his dad has been home for the last 3 days. As you can see, he wants to be just like Daddy.

Words

Andrew is working so hard at trying to be understood. He "talks" quite a bit, but its mostly gibberish! Some new words have come out, a lot of them have awesome facial expressions and gestures that help us understand what he's saying.
He asks, "where is _______" multiple times a day usually he wants to know where the car and daddy are. When asking where the car is, he insists that I follow him to the garage door to make sure I know what I'm talking about. He doesn't put his hand down my shirt nearly as often as he used to, and he's gotten to the point that he'll fall asleep for his nap without his hand touching my skin, maybe someday soon I'll be able to lay him on the bed and just leave! He is really into his toy cars and trucks! My legs are his favorite roads to drive on, complete with sound effects. He gets upset when his roads move, and will forcefully correct their position. FYI having matchbox cars driven on the shin bone can be painful.

American Dresdener, one of my freshman year roommates. Anyways, I was so excited when I found her online footprint! Plus she's a great writer, funny and informative, and her life is kinda interesting!

Smitten Kitchen, I was searching for a recipe for Ratatouille, yes I had been watching the movie and I wanted to make it just as good as Remy, and I found a recipe on her website/blog. It is a great recipe, and now I love reading her adventures in the kitchen. Her recipes are great, and she makes trying new things easy!

Don't be offended if I didn't list your blog! I love you and I love reading about all my long lost friends, and some people I don't even know!

Surgery Scheduled

Eddie will be having surgery on Monday October 27. Dr Manning and his staff has been very helpful and are giving us a big discount.
I think I've been inspired for Halloween costumes for us as a family.

$85 billion and a Spa Vacation

What the Hell is this?

ABC: Less than a week after the federal government committed $85 billion to bail out AIG, executives of the giant AIG insurance company headed for a week-long retreat at a luxury resort and spa, the St. Regis Resort in Monarch Beach, California, Congressional investigators revealed today.

...AIG documents obtained by Waxman's investigators show the company paid more than $440,000 for the retreat, including nearly $200,000 for rooms, $150,000 for meals and $23,000 in spa charges.

"Less than one week after the taxpayers rescued AIG, company executives could be found wining and dining at one of the most exclusive resorts in the nation," said Waxman as he prepared to question AIG executives.
