NASCAR

Unfortunately Tony Stewart won, but we all had a good time. Everyone should go to a NASCAR race before they die, even if you don't care at all about the racing, just go so you can look at the other people at the race, and to feel the cars take the green flag.
Our seats were right in front of Carl's pit, but we couldn't quite see turn 4. Usually turn 4 has all the crashing action, but there were no multi car crashes on Sunday.

The highlights of the weekend were
1. Going into the Neon Garage with Matt, and having Carl Edwards sign my hat. I said "thanks Carl" and he smiled at me.
2. Hearing a couple yelling at their kids Danica and Junior. They had two other kids with them, I wonder what their names were.
3. The drunk blonde lady being helped down the stairs. She had eye make up smeared all over the top half of her face, and her escort proudly lifted his shirt sleeve to show off his 24 tattoo to another Jeff Gordon fan.

His First Solo Build

This might just look like a mess, but to the trained eye of a boys mother, it looks like a fort.

I came out of my bedroom at Andrew's insistence, and he proudly showed me his fort, the first one he ever built by himself. He also insisted that I take a picture of him.

Starting the NASCAR Weekend Off Right

The Emmetts drove thru town today, and Andrew, Juliette, and I met them for lunch at Jimmy John's. While we were waiting in line I noticed a very familiar looking man behind us. The store was crowded, and the group he was with turned to leave. I quickly asked one of the women he was with, "Is that AJ Allmendinger?" well, actually I kind of squeaked it. I'm not really a Dinger fan, but I was thrilled to be in a store when a NASCAR driver walked in. I quickly yelled out the door after him, "AJ will you take a picture with us?"
He obliged me :)

The kids and I finished the first day of the Las Vegas NASCAR weekend with a trip down to the strip.

GO CARL!

We took Andrew's best friend/Juliette's boyfriend Jackson with us to watch the haulers go down the strip. Juliette loves Jackson, she didn't love the honking trucks.

Dining Adventures

Andrew doesn't like most food.
No that's wrong.
He's stubborn and he won't try most food. He is absolutely convinced that the few things he likes (Pizza, any sort of bread, chips, salsa, most breakfast foods but not eggs, cheese sandwiches with mustard and mayo sometimes with turkey, and french fries, and avocado) are the only good things to eat, and when we insist that eats at least one bite of everything on his plate, the stubbornness kicks in and he absolutely refuses to like it.
So when he does something like this
on his own, we try not to make a big deal of it.
