I occasionally read dooce.com. She's a professional blogger, her husband even quit his job to manage the blogging. She posts like three times a day (I don't know how she manages that). Anyways, she's had articles written about her in the Wall Street Journal, and has been featured on a couple different tv shows, and her blogging supports her family because of the ad revenue! Right now I'm looking at her blog and I see ads for pet daycare, w hotels, a weight loss study, mental illness, and a blog printing service. She's obviously an exceptional blogger, I am obviously not.
So the purpose of my first poll is to find out what you think about ads on blogs.
I totally understand why she has ads on her blog, she regularly gets 400+ comments on her posts (usually because she's said something someone thinks is ignorant, rude, insulting, or demeaning, which is always worded in the funniest way possible). But what about the average "Mommy Blogger" is it acceptable for the blogging masses to put ads on their blogs?

i love dooce too! i don't know why mormons have to write her nasty letters...as if that is helping the situation?
as for ads, i don't see why not. they aren't really intrusive and no one is forcing you to click on them. it just gets a little old when they're EVERYWHERE.
and did you know it's estimated she makes between $75K and $100K per month in ad revenue? i say more power to her.
