Eddie has decided to start cooking.
Last week he attempted creme brule, they weren't a disaster, but there was something wrong with them.
Last night he made chicken korma, and Indian dish we've both been missing since moving away from England. It wasn't quite right. It was good, but it didn't taste the way korma is supposed to taste, it was too spicy and not creamy enough, so we'll have to find a different recipe. In the prayer before dinner, Eddie asked heavenly father to bless the food that it wouldn't kill us, and so far no harm has befallen me, but Eddie isn't feeling well, and is still in bed.
But I must say that the best part of him learning to cook is what he's realized about finances. Last night after dinner he told me, as if I didn't already know, that "ingredients are expensive. Every time I went to the store I only spent like $20 or $30, but I had to keep going to the store, and it really adds up!"
I guess that was just a lesson he needed to learn for himself!

yes, cooking is expensive- it's a great lesson to learn. Most husbands would do well to try it out. I'm not talking about going to the market and buying milk, eggs and bread, either. I mean doing the shopping for a nice dinner (or two for that matter) in addition to all the other meals...we all like to make and eat nice meals- do we like to pay for them? Not really...
How true-it kills me the sheer about of money it costs to feed a family! I can't even believe it sometimes. I'm very impressed at Eddie for even attempting such complicated dishes-Yay for him!
